A Gentle Reminder of our Class Terms and Conditions:
Payment- confirming your place in class:
- Your class/group place is not reserved until paid in full.
- Unpaid expressions of interest will not guarantee a place as these are allocated on a “first paid” basis.
- A needs list will be provided when you book and pay for your class/group. Groups are paid on a ‘per-term’ basis.
- Full payment is required prior to attending the class/group.
If you miss a class:
- No refund is available if you miss or forget to come to class/group.
- We are not obliged to offer you a makeup session if you are unable to attend, but we will do our best to accommodate you.
- We send an email reminder to all class /group attendees a few days before the first If you would like to receive this, you must provide us with a valid email address when you book. We are unable to make phone reminders.
- It is your responsibility to make a note of the dates of your classes.
Sewing Machines:
- If the class/group requires you to use a sewing machine, please make sure your machine is in good working order before you arrive.
- While we are willing to help, tutors are under no obligation to trouble shoot mechanical issues with your machine.
- We will not give compensation if the condition of your machine is prohibiting you from taking part in the session.
- We expect you to have a working knowledge of your machine.
- Please note that we do not provide machines to use in class.
General Sewing supplies:
- Please bring your own scissors, pins and other equipment as listed on the Needs list or all of the items you would usually use for your project.
- We have some shared resources in the classroom, but can’t guarantee sufficient supplies for the entire group.
- You may need to purchase items you forget to bring.
Unfinished projects:
- Most of our classes are designed to be completed during class time. If you didn’t finish your project, we will endeavour to accommodate you in our Work In Progress Wednesday group as long as there is space ( a fee applies).
General Safety
- We have some specific requirements that are designed for your safety- we require to you adhere to these:
- Never put pins or needles in your mouth.
- The safety guide must be in place when you are not using your rotary cutter.
- Scissors must be closed when not in use.
- Sewing machines must use the overhead power cables in the centre of the classroom.
- Please follow the store evacuation procedures.
Refunds:
- Generally refunds will not be made if you cancel less than ONE WEEK prior to the start of the class/group.
- Sometimes we have a waiting list and are able to fill your space. In this case, we will refund your fee. You are also welcome to send an attendee in your place.
- If there’s a kit included in the class fee, you are entitled to it, and we will make arrangements with you to make sure you receive it.
- Specific refund policies may apply to certain tutors and certain classes. We will advise you of these when you book for class.
- We reserve the right to cancel any class. If this happens, we will refund your payment in full.
Other:
- We are a no smoking, no vaping store.
